Neal Genemore, 65, of West Newton, died Thursday, December 8, 2022. He was born April 23, 1957 a son of the late Dominic and Jeanne Genemore. Neal was a lifelong resident of West Newton, where he was a volunteer and community supporter, especially with Downtown West Newton, Inc.
Peter Angelo Caprio, 63 years young, born April 17th, 1959. Peter suddenly passed away on August 14th, 2022. Peter was born in Providence, Rhode Island to Velma Louise Caprio. His family moved from the East coast to the West, where he attended K-12 In Rio Vista, CA. Peter had a passion for construction and custom home building from a young age. He started his own business, Caprio Construction at the age of 20 and never looked back.

Fred James Johnson, age 77, died October 14th, 2022 at home, from heart related issues. He was born on April 17th, 1945 in Melrose, Kansas to James Luther and Effie Mae Johnson. Fred married Cynthia Sue , in Great Bend, in 1964. They move to Lewis, Kansas when Fred started working for Cross Mfg. and then moved to Kinsley, Kansas for a few years, then finally moving to Trousdale, Kansas in 1973. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. McCalla was preceded in death by a sister, Winton Lewis; three brothers, Julius ‘Buddy’ King, Osborne King and Allen King. This is the cost to purchase a burial vault from the funeral home.
In 2017 he and his wife celebrated 70 years of marriage. He was a beloved father, grandfather and great grandfather. She attended Fort Hays University where she met James Gleason. She taught school in rural Russell County while James served in the U. On May 23, 1946 they married at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Russell, Kansas.
On May 5, 1990, Dena married Terry Dean Lacy in Miami, Oklahoma. They made their home and spent the rest of their lives raising their daughters and grandchildren in Augusta, Kansas. Dena was well known for her many projects and her ability to master any that she... No memorial services are planned for the Wichita area and he will be laid to rest in the cemetery in Blockton, Iowa.
His service kept the family on the move for the next twenty years. Following high school, Garett attended Southwestern College and Wichita State University on track scholarships. In 2019, he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Information Networking and Telecommunications from Fort Hays State University. He joined the United States Air Force in 2020. Garett ranked Airman First Class and was stationed at Vandenberg Space Force Base in Vandenberg, California.
Born in rural Iowa, he left the family farm with his young family and lived briefly in Mesa, Arizona, then settled in the Wichita area in 1964. He was a union carpenter foreman, and helped construct numerous homes and businesses in the Wichita area. After his long career he volunteered at the Wichita Cowtown Historical Museum, where he was the old timer Carpenter and curator of antique tools. He enjoyed displaying and demonstrating tools and making wooden toys for children and visitors. Eugene was on the board of the Andover Senior Center. He was an avid reader of history, had many handicraft hobbies and gardened.
